Yesterday was Tootie's birthday. She is now an official 6 year old.
Tootie tried out her new skates as Sadie, our doberman, kept a wary eye. Sadie was not overly keen on the balloons. She wandered into the shot above and you can see she is making her there's-monkey-business-going-on-and-I-don't-like-it look.

After dinner Tootie had a chance to try the skates out for real. I can't believe how grown up she is getting. I know I say that every year and every year I really mean it. She is smart, creative, quick witted and a tad little Miss Smartypants.
She was very frustrated that she kept falling so I told her that she shouldn't expect to be perfect the first time out.
She responded, "Jesus is perfect".
"Yes."
"Who were his parents?"
"Um, Mary was his Mother and he had an adoptive Dad, Joseph."
"Who is his other Dad?"
"God."
"But Jesus is God."
"Yes."
"So, he's his own Dad?"
Oh, the paradox of the Trinity. My girlie, the 6 year old thinker.

Happy Birthday!!! She is growing up!!
And we had a similar conversation with Liam the other day... SO difficult to explain to a young person!
Happy birthday to Tootie!
I heard a kids' song about how "practice makes progress." I like that. No perfection here. We'll leave that to Jesus.
Happy 6th Birthday to you Tootie!! I hope you had a great day. May God bless your sweet heart.
Best wishes,
Cindy
