So, I'm busy packing the girls and shipping them out. I also managed to get most of my Christmas shopping done. Still have more to do and I'm dreading it. All I really want to do is snuggle in, have the woodstove going and do crafty things with Tootie. Until I can do that and blog about it please enjoy this photo of Tootie:
Wow. I did not expect that. I mean, I thought sure I'll sell a couple dolls. Make a little spending money. But all of them? Sold? In less than 24 hours? I am so flattered and honestly a little scared. Well, maybe not scared like BOO! scared. More of nervous energy scared. I have stumps for fingernails to prove it. Someone asked me if I had a plan. A plan, a plan. Say it enough it sounds like apron. I do have one several of those. The current plan is to keep making dolls and see what happens next. I feel like I'm on a roller coaster. tick tick tick tick. Tootie calls them roller toasters. That's a better image. I will continue making dolls*. So, that's my plan Stan and I'm sticking to it for now.
Thanks everyone for your truly kind comments. They mean a lot to me.
*If you had told me 2 years ago I would be doing this I would have asked what you've been smoking.
Thank you everyone! Sorry, they have all been spoken for! The girls are ready to go venture out on their own. I have 5 currently available for purchase. All vary between 20-24 inches long from head to toe. If any of these gals strike your fancy than email me: joybucket at gmail.com $68 each + $5 for shipping/handling.
Sally is dressed in vintage fabric circa late 70's according to the lady hosting the garage sale. She has a simple purple grosgrain ribbon sewn around her waist. Her collar is green lace trim of which I cut portions in order to decorate her shoes.
LolaSOLD
Lola is Tootie's favorite. I think it's her lively colors. Lola's collar is made from yellow scalloped edging with green pompons added. She has two half circle pockets, one with stripes that are horizontal and one with stripes that are vertical. Her hair is tied back into ponytails with little butterfly clips made from shrinky dinks. Lola's legs are from the same stripy material as her pockets. Her shoes are black MaryJane's with simple cream buttons.
HannahSOLD
Hannah is the frilly one of the bunch. With a diagonal double ribbon tied around her waist along with her hair tied back in beaded pompons she is very girlie girl. Her shoes are whimsically Camper inspired.
EvieSOLD
Evie is emotionally all over the place. She keeps her heart in her pocket ready for instant joy or ache. See below: Heart in. Heart out. Along with being emotional she is also a slightly mischievous. Sometimes looking sweet and others looking like she's up to something. Evie's shoes are blue and sweetly decorated with button flowers.
Finally, there is Nicolette who I introduced to you in a previous post.
While digging out Christmas decorations my parents found another box of my Grandmother's sewing supplies.
Lots of thread and needles. Man, she would've never run out of needles that's for sure. Some old postcards. A couple pincushions. Numerous safety pins and paperclips. Buttons both beautiful and extremely ugly. One panel labeled "Ivory" and looking at them closely I don't doubt that they are. One complimentary sewing kit for the purchase of a sewing machine which states on the back "...as little as $5 down puts a Kenmore Sewing Machine in your home." Two "Amazing Scissor Sharpeners". One snap fastening tool. And finally this providential item.
Joybucket was born in 2005. I've been creating things since I was a kid and have always wanted to be an artist. I went to the Columbus College of Art and Design and graduated in 1992 with a emphasis in illustration -- specifically 3-D illustration which is a fancy way of saying that I majored in playing with dolls and dioramas.
Who knew that playing with toys and imaginary worlds could be a career? Unfortunately, it does make it a tad difficult to explain exactly what I do do. ;)
