Here she is! Oi! Lily. (Named so since she is made with a pair of Oilily socks.) Now with ears, tail (that you can't see) and foofy dress. It took me a little while to finish. I made and trashed her first dress. I had high hopes and expectations. I had made a skirt out of ribbon scraps but it just wasn't achieving the look I was after. This dress is made out of an old shirt cuff. I have a thing for cuffs... Her ears are made from an old Oilily skirt. She has a little necklace made from a flower button and some beads. She doesn't have shoes because I don't know how to make those yet. Overall I'm pretty pleased. She's my first softie for MOS and the first doll I've made since earning a Girlscout badge when I was 9 years old. This is pretty addicting. Thanks MOS for getting me off my arse.

Sock Monkey

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

She still missing a tail and her ears and she's naked but here she is. Tootie can't keep her hands off of her so I guess that a good thing. I haven't decided what kind of clothing to put on her.

Thanks to Wee Wonderfuls I sang "sock the monkey, hey hey" to "Shock the Monkey" all last night. So much so that little Toots is singing it now too.

Tootie loves helicopters. Maybe because "Daddy flies those". I was inspired by Wee Wonderfuls bus and decided to make one for her. Toile makes for good camo don't you think? Check out Tootie playing with it on my Flickr album.

Yeah, I know I did this a while ago but I wanted to finally participate in Illustration Friday. I'm going with the idea that our cookie cutter burbs are the new metropolis or wasp colony.

when it's hot

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Thought I would share my latest. I have 3 variations of this one. Only one has a back right now. I just sew on another piece of the same ribbon to the back to hide my mess. I like these for summer. The shirt cuffs are a little hot. I think I'm going to go even thinner with my next series.

Still haven't constructed my Softie . Everything is cut but alas my machine is broken and I have to send it out. It needs a good cleaning anyway. soon. soon.

edit: Click on the photo and you'll see it larger.

I couldn't wait any longer

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

A couple of years ago I made some bracelet cuffs but never finished them off with proper backing. I finally completed one. Alright then, one down, five more to go. My masthead is an unfinished cuff although I made it too big for myself. Skinny wrists.

busy girl that's me

I've been crafty. After seeing this and this I ran right out and got myself some of that shrinky dink stuff. So fun.
Instant gratification and I'm all about that. Take a look...
